Zimbabwe under sanctions

Zimbabwe and her officials are facing tough times in the hands of the USA as the country was hit on the same day by US economic sanctions and security minister Owen Ncube denied visa to the states because he is said to be involved in gross human rights violations.

“We are deeply troubled by the Zimbabwean government’s use of state-sanctioned violence against peaceful protesters and civil society, as well as against labor leaders and members of the opposition leaders in Zimbabwe,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.

He also added that “We urge the government to stop the violence, investigate and hold accountable officials responsible for human rights violations and abuses in Zimbabwe,”.

This announcement by the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo CAME ON THE same day thousands took to the street to protest against the sanction imposed on them by the un and eu which is said to not be the best move by Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

president Emmerson Mnangagwa has since taking over power from Robert Mugabe struggled with his countries poor economy hit by inflation.
