In this era where we live now, most people are carried away with work, family, and problems to a point that they forget to take care of themselves. Note that it is your body’s right to be pampered and taken good care of so that you can go through your activities. It is good to practice self-care in your body. Some people even put others before them, yes it is good to care about others but while caring for others, do not forget to take care (self-care) of your skin.

Simple Ways to Practice Self-Care

1. Eat healthily and properly

It’s very funny how adults maltreat their bodies. That is, most often, busy people and adults eat in a rush, and at times, we eat while multitasking. That is eating while doing other things, which is very bad when it comes to self-care. When you want to take care of yourself, make sure that you cook a good meal, do away with any distractions, and then take your time, and chew properly and slowly.

2. Play like a kid

Most adults today have forgotten that every human being has an inner child that has to be nourished from time to time. That is, do things that you used to love when you were a kid. Is it playing football, running, dancing, picking flowers, etc? Doing these things will help bring out your inner child and it will help you have some freshness and relaxation.

3. Exercise more often

When on a one-week self-care routine, do not forget to add exercise to your routines. Exercising is very important for the young, and the old. Exercising will help you relax your muscles and make you feel healthier and lighter.

4. Get Enough Hours of Sleep

This might sound exaggerated but it is very important once in a while especially when you hardly sleep. According to doctors and researchers, it is important to sleep 8 hours a day but it is funny how some people do not still sleep up to this recommended number of hours.

When on a self-care routine period, even in one day put all your stress tools and stress givers away, get into bed and give your body the sleep it needs.

5. Let Go of Unwanted Things

Another thing that makes you not practice self-care is the fact that you do not want to let go of things that are stressing you and are not helping you. When on a self-care journey please do away with things you do not need. Is it grudges, jealousy, hatred, anger, etc do away with all these things?

Note that, to be your most authentic self, you need to incorporate self-care into your daily life. Go to the spa, go get your body massages, go hiking, go to the gym, there are a lot of things you can do to treat yourself very well.
