NIGERIA’S FIRST LADY APOLOGIZES TO HER NATION OVER LEAKED VIDEO SCANDAL
The first lady of Nigeria Aisha Buhari has issued a public apology to her children, family and well-meaning Nigerians over the embarrassment the leaked videos had caused.
She made this apology this Wednesday while hosting governors’, Senators and vice Presidents wives at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The video, which showed the president’s wife in angry mood, was released by Mammon Daura’s daughter, Fatima
she posted on her Instagram “I used the opportunity to apologies for the embarrassment I might have caused my children, my immediate family members, well meaning Nigerians and the institution I represent, on the circulated leaked video clip,”
the first lady expressed her wish to build a regional secretariat for the African First Ladies Peace Mission (AFLPM).
The mission, which was established after the Beijing Conference of 1995, has been in the custody of Nigeria, with leadership rotating among African first ladies.
In a statement by her Director of Information, Suleiman Haruna, she said: “I have successfully secured 2.7 hectares of land in Abuja for this purpose and the foundation-laying will soon be conducted in the presence of African first ladies.”.
