SA politics

Mmusi Maimane has completely dropped out of the Democratic Alliance Party barely a few hours after he announced he was stepping down as the leader of the country’s main opposition party.

Mmusi Maimane said he would stay on as an MP for the DA but has in made a U-turn announcing on his twitter handle he is quitting parliament saying “I have worked tirelessly to build the project of One SA for All, It’s been my greatest honor to serve the people of SA and will continue to do so. I have today resigned from the DA and Parliament. Thank you to the people of this county for your faith in our nation. God bless SA.”

most of the DAs support traditionally came from whites with some conservatives abandoning the party in Mays general elections which saw the parties performance dropping under Mmusi Maimane who was in his first elections with the party as a black  South African.
