Barrister Michele Ndoki, member of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) political part has announced she will be going as a candidate for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
This came in few moments after the president of the Republic Paul Biya convened the date for the elections. She will be representing her political party in her constituency. It is not yet known with whom she will be contesting.
She took to her twitter “ it will be a moment of truth, for those of you who believe I’m engaged to the people, the time for the union is here, on February 9, 2019. I will be honoured to be a parliamentarian..” she said.
The human right lawyer and member of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) party were arrested alongside hundreds of the party members and supporters in Douala.
After spending some months in prison she was she was convicted of some crimes, sentenced and later released in October.
Michele Ndoki was among those who defended the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (CRM) party during the petition of the partial cancellation of the previous presidential elections before the Constitutional Council.
To her and her party, the CRM presidential candidate Professor Maurice Kamto was the winner of the presidential elections.
