The Black Mamba Kobe Bryant
The basketball legend, the Black Mamba Kobe Bryant, was so much more than just a basketball player, and still had so much left to accomplish after the end of his basketball career in 2016.
Kobe Bryant had done so much even during his career to helping the benefits of others and of course his family. Right out his basketball career in 2016, Bryant and a business partner had launched a firm Bryant-Stibel, that was designated to focus on businesses that had to do with gaming, media, data, and technology. The two partners had put in $100 million in funding to support the firm and others.
In 2017 Kobe Bryant had also won 3 awards for his short film written and narrated by him, Dear Basketball. Those awards include Best Animated Short Film Academy Award, Best Animated Short Subject Annie Award, and lastly the Outstanding Post-Produced Graphic Design Sports Emmy Award.
Kobe Bryant even had his book The Mamba Mentality: How I Play published in 2018. The book consisted of photographs and his reflections of his previous career in basketball.
Before Bryant’s career ended, he created Kobe Inc. in 2014 which had increased in value to about $200 million after the Coca-Cola Company purchased a stake of the company in 2018.
Bryant out of the kindness of his heart had done an enormous amount of philanthropic work. Kobe Bryant became the official ambassador of the After-School All-Stars (ASAS) non-profit organization.
The organization provides after-school programs to 72,000 children throughout the United States. Kobe Bryant created the Kobe China Fund that raised over $6 million and would be the first to donate more than $700 thousand to children in Sichuan.
Throughout Bryant’s life, he has supported many charities and foundations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer, Aid Still Required, Cathy’s Kids Foundation, Vijay Amritraj Foundation, and of course his and his wife’s foundation, the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation that was established in 2006.
Bryant has donated his time and money to more than just these well-known charities and foundations.
The basketball legend has done so much good with his life, it is easy to assume that he wouldn’t have stopped any time soon. The support the Bryant has provided will never be forgotten, even people that were not personally supported by his good work will not forget what he has done as he has impacted many lives on and off of the basketball court.
