Ex ivory coast rebel leader Guillaume Soro has announced that he will run in the next presidential race that comes up next year.
This decision is influenced by the fact that he has been endorsed by some pro soro parties as he announced. Soro,47, launched a political movement this year after disagreeing with president Alassane Ouattara and resigned as parliamentary speaker.
This announcement by one time prime minister of ivory coast comes amidst reports which claims president ouattara will be seeking re-election for a 3rd term in 2020 made legal by a constitutional change in 2006.
Guillaume Soro who had served as prime minister and speaker of parliament is said to be in a European tour canvassing votes and trying to woo potential voters to his side and he is looking to flaunt his youth as a major asset for Ivoirians to vote for him.
