Heat rash, equally known as prickly heat rash or sweat rash is a group of tiny pimples or blisters on your skin caused by sweat rapped in your glands. The rash can be painful or itchy at times.
It is an area of your skin that becomes irritated because of sweat trapped in the pores and pathways underneath your skin. Heat rashes are common in hot and humid climates. The rash most often develops in areas of your body that don’t get enough airflow or areas where there’s skin-to-skin contact.
Adults usually develop heat rash in skin folds and where clothing rubs against each other. Meanwhile, in infants, the rash is mainly found on the neck, shoulders and chest. It can also show up in the armpits, elbow creases and groin.Most at times ,heat rash appears as blisters, red lumps , flushed skin or itching bumps.
However, heat rashes can be treated at home naturally without the intervention of a medical personnel using the following methods.
1. Cool baths and showers
bathing in cool water and washing the skin gently can also help unclog the pores.
2. Stay in an air-conditioned room, or use an air fan
They are also of great help to the treatment of your rash in the sense that ,Ventilation is important in letting your rash dry out and stay cool.
3. Light, moisture-wicking clothes is also an important tool to fight heat rashes
It is essential to avoid clothing that irritates your skin or makes you sweat more. Moisture-wicking clothing that’s light and loose-fitting can help your skin heal without irritating it.
4. Oatmeal can equally be an effective
Source at reducing itching and inflammation. This makes it a useful home remedy for heat rash and several other skin conditions. Put 1 or 2 cups of oatmeal in a lukewarm bath and soak for 20 minutes. Make sure the water isn’t hot, so you don’t further irritate your skin. Equally ,Sandalwood powder mixed with a little water and applied to the rash can reduce the burning, painful sensation associated with heat rash.
5. Baking soda
(sodium bicarbonate) can soothe itchy skin. It’s also something most of us have in our houses.This makes it a great home remedy for heat rash and other itchy skin conditions. Add 3 to 5 tablespoons of baking soda to a lukewarm bath and soak for about 20 minute.
These and many others are simply and applicable methods of treatment heat rash naturally without involving a doctor
