A good night’s sleep is very important to our health and body, because it gives the body time to rest, repair, and rebuild making sleep one of the most essential parts of our daily lives. Not being able to get a good night’s rest can cause an impact on your mood, but also your motor skills, exercise performance, and immune system.
For some people, getting sleep is always a big challenge at night, and it could be because of an illness, depression, or overthinking. To be able to sleep easily, there are meals you can eat that will make you sleep easier and better.
Foods to Eat Before Going to Bed
1. Fatty Fish
Fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, trout, and mackerel have an exceptional amount of vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. These nutrients alone help you fall asleep more easily and give you a good night’s rest.
2. Lettuce

3. Sweet Potato

4. Honey
honey is known worldwide, especially for all its health benefits. That is, honey contains glucose which helps to reverse levels of orexin, a neurotransmitter in the brain that makes you more alert. When this is reversed, you will be capable to sleep faster and easier.
5. Oatmeal
Oatmeal provides a natural source of melatonin and is loaded with carbs which help to induce drowsiness when eaten before bed. Try this and see the results.
6. Almonds
Eating an ounce of almonds can also provide 19% of your daily need for magnesium, which helps to reduce stress and make you sleep faster and better. Note that, almonds are a rich source of melatonin which helps regulate your sleep pattern.
