Health benefits of white vinegar to the human body
Vinegar which is a combination of water and acetic acid has been used for centuries as a medicine, preservative, and health supplement. White vinegar sometimes called distilled or spirit vinegar has been a mainstay in households worldwide for thousands of years. Some types of white vinegar can contain up to 20% acetic acid, but these are strictly for agricultural or cleaning purposes and are not intended for human consumption. Today, most white vinegar is made from the fermentation of grain alcohol (ethanol). This kind of alcohol doesn’t naturally contain many nutrients, so other ingredients such as yeast or phosphates may be added to kickstart the bacterial fermentation process. White vinegar may also yield positive health effects that reach far beyond adding flavor to your favorite recipes. Drinking white vinegar isn’t the only way to ingest the liquid — you can also cook with it. For instance, white vinegar is good for pickling foods and mixing them into dressings, condiments, and sauces. RELATED: Health benefits of vinegar
Some of the possible health benefits of vinegar include:
1. Weight management:
Some studies indicate that consuming vinegar may increase fullness by slowing the rate at which the stomach empties, possibly leading to reduced calorie intake and subsequent weight loss.
2. Blood sugar control:
Some human studies have found that ingesting vinegar may reduce both blood sugar and insulin levels after a meal
3. It May Promote Heart Health:
White vinegar is also good for you due to its potential ability to support heart health.
4. It Can Support Ear Health:
Distilled white vinegar is good for your ear health, too: Indeed, you can put vinegar in your ear (as long as you do it safely — more on how to do that below).
5. Antimicrobial:
Because of its antimicrobial properties, vinegar may be useful for treating physical ailments including nail fungus, warts, and ear infections. It’s also an effective topical treatment for skin infections and burns.
6. Anti-Burn Effects:
White vinegar is often used to treat and soothe a variety of skin burns and inflammations, including abrasions, minor cuts, rashes, insect stings, and sunburn.
7. Anti-Fungus Effects:
Most people keep toenail fungus under wraps. You may not have to after soaking another cotton ball with white vinegar and rubbing it into your toenails several times a day until the condition goes away.
White vinegar’s culinary applications include pickling, baking, marinades, and cheesemaking. The flavor is strong. They may equally have significant health benefits due to their acetic acid content, including blood sugar control, weight management, reduced cholesterol, and antimicrobial properties.
