Passion fruit is a small round or oval-shaped exotic fruit that is from a type of passionflower called Passiflora Vine. This fruit has a tough outer rind and juicy, seed-filled center and it is made up of two different colors, which include purple and yellow varieties. It should be noted that the yellow skin passion fruit is slightly bigger than the purple passion fruit.

Secondly, passion fruit contains a lot of dietary fiber which helps regulate the digestive system and keep the gut healthy. With this fiber, passion fruit helps fight against things like bowel disorders and constipation. Also, for people who suffer from diabetes, it is advisable to eat passion fruit because it contains a low glycemic index (GI) value which does not cause an increase in your blood sugar level.
Furthermore, passion fruit contains good nutrients, which help improve insulin sensitivity, which is good for diabetic patients. Being rich in Vitamin C, passion fruit helps protect the body from damage caused by free radicals, thereby protecting the immune system. Passion fruits also support the heart’s health, it also reduces anxiety because of the magnesium content found in them.

- When u want to eat passion fruit, it is very easy. Simply get the fruit, cut it in half and use a spoon to remove the pulp from the rind. Most people eat just the juicy seeds but others also eat the pulp or outer part. It all depends on how you will love it.
Side effects of eating Passion Fruits
In as much as passion fruits are very healthy for the body, some people actually can be allergic to them. According to research, if you are allergic to fruits like Avocado, pineapple, tomato, banana, etc, it is important to avoid passion fruit or eat it but very little. This is because passion fruit pulp also contains a toxin called cyanogenic glycoside. This chemical can cause cyanide poisoning in high amounts which are not good for the human body.
