Health benefits of crying;
Crying is a normal human response to a whole range of emotions that has a number of health and social benefits, pain relief and self-soothing effects. When you cry there are three different types of tears;
- The reflex tears; These types of tears are triggered when something is in your eye. They are produced to wash out anything that might irritate the eyes like smoke or debris.
- The Basal tears: These tears are made of oil, water, and mucus which help to keep the eyes healthy and protected.
- Emotional tears: These type of tears are triggered by emotions and contain water. Most or lets say everyone experiences this type of tears. They make you feel much better.
Health Benefits of Crying;
1. Crying boost your mood:
when you feel sad, crying might be the best option to make you feel much more better.
2. Crying can relieve stress and emotional pain:
shedding emotional tears helps relieve oxytocin and endorphins which are chemicals make people feel good and may also ease both physical and emotional pain.
3. Crying Aids sleep:
If you have noticed, when you cry you easily fall at sleep and even sleep better. This is because, crying creates a calming, mood-enhancing, and pain-relieving effect which may help a person fall asleep more easily.
4. Crying Fights bacteria:
Tears contain a fluid called lysozyme, which helps to keep the eyes clean and also kill bacteria’s.
5. Crying Improves vision:
each time a human being blinks the basal tear is created. This helps keep the eyes moist and prevent mucous membranes from drying out.
In as much as crying is has the said health benefits, it becomes a problem when the crying is constant and uncontrollable. This constant crying could be as a result of things like depression. So when you realize you cry too often, you cry for nothing, you cry uncontrollably, then you should probably meet a doctor.
