The International Federation of Football History and Statistics, IFFHS, has ranked Cameroonian international football referee Alioum Sidi Neant the best referee in Africa.

After officiating the opening match of the 2019 African Cup of Nations(AFCON) in Egypt between Egypt and Zimbabwe some few months back, the Confederation of African Football, CAF, appointed Alioum Sidi Neant to officiate the finals of the tournament between Senegal and Algeria.

The 2019 AFCON finals between Senegal and Algeria was to be officiated by South African Victor Gomes, but for some reasons the officials of CAF appointed Alioum Sidi to officiate the match.

Despite his young age, the Cameroonian referee, Alioun Sidi has a lot of experience when it comes to African football. He has officiated several big games since 2010, and he was also in charge of the Cairo Derby in CAF Champions League.

Worthy to nate also is that the 36 years old Alioum became a FIFA referee in 2008, and has participated  in 6 different World cups competitions of different categories, as well as 7 AFCON tournaments among others.

Besides being a referee, Alioum Sidi is an Air-force officer in his country Cameroon.
