Easy natural Ear Pain Relieve Home Remedies

Ear infections often comes and goes on its own with no medical attention needed. But none the less, when these earache disturbs you, there are simple natural home remedy’s to cure or reduce earache.

Ice pack

Ice helps to reduce pain, so you can hold an ice pack to your ear for 15 to 20 minutes and it will make your ear numb. It will also reduce inflammation which is probably one cause of the earache.

Garlic

Garlic is made up of a compound called Allicin, which helps to fight bacterial infections which may be the cause of the earache.

You can chew garlic to reduce the pain.

Heating pad

A heating pad will help improve blood flow by relaxing the muscle. So you can use a heated cloth and hold on your ear for 15 to 20 minutes. It will help you feel better.

Chew gum

If you are someone who travels a lot, and moves to high elevations, it is advisable you chew gum.

Chewing gum will help reduce pressure on your ears and also help pop the ears.

Ginger

Ginger has a natural anti-inflammatory property and so if you apply ginger juice around the outer ear canal, it is going to relieve you from the pain.

N.B: Do not put the ginger juice directly into the ear.

  Olive oil

This method is old, but lacks any backing by scientific evidence. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics says that adding a couple of drops of warmed olive oil is safe and could be moderately effective.

A cool or warm compress. Soak a washcloth in either cool or warm water, wring it out, and then put it over the ear that’s bothering you. Try both temperatures to see if one helps you more than the other.

What should cause you to see a doctor;

  1. When you notice any fluids like pus or blood oozing out of your ear.
  2. When you have a high fever, headache, or feel dizzy.
  3. When an object is stuck in your ear.
  4. When you experience swelling behind your ear, and cannot move your muscles.
  5. When you experience severe ear pain and it suddenly stops it is not normal. It could mean a ruptured eardrum.
  6. If an earache persists for more than 2 or 3 days, it is important to get medical advice.
