Cameroon: TEDx Ngoaekélé makes 2019 conference a success.
Coordinated by Hapsatou Nadia, it is the first time the Yaounde inhabitants are discovering this self organized event that bring people together to share ideas.
Organised on Saturday December 14, 2019 at the “Hotel des Députés in Cameroon’s political capital, it brought together 5 Speakers.They are Reine Mbang Essobmadje, Pr Justine DIFFO, Aeisatou Bouba, Marylène
Owona and Aminatou Saher, all entrepreneurs and women of integrity.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, two TED talks video were projected for participants to watch. That of H. E Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former Liberian president and Asheri Kílo, Secretary of state at the ministry of
basic education. They both talked of their experiences and called on young girls and women to continue working harder for their communities and nations irrespective of their Gender.

Over 80 Attendees ready to take their turn.
Centered on topics like “I Have No Identity”, “I Am a Girl And Not a Bride”, “Positive Thoughts To Build A Wealthy Country”, and “Finding The Resilience Within”, the Talks combined to spark deep discussion and
connection between speakers and participants.
Note that this TEDx events are organized independently and Cameroon has three zones namely, TEDx Bamenda, TEDx Bonanjo and TEDx Ngoaekélé.

Such initiatives are worth taking in our communities. When people of the same gender challenge fellow women, they not only speak to their mind but also to their hearts by sharing their own experiences. This can turn out to becoming a triggering factor for action. Keep the initiative growing.
