14 death cases from measles and 42 cases of rubella have already been registered in a few months.
It is the statistics published by the Ministry of Public Health before the launch of the vaccination campaign against viral diseases and highly contagious viruses on Wednesday, December 04, 2019.

The launching ceremony that was presided in the morning by Minister Manaouda Malachie, took place in the health district of Cité Verte, a health district of Yaoundé Cameroon. But, the campaign will extend till Sunday, December 08, 2019, and will be conducted in schools, chieftaincies and health centers throughout the national territory.

“In fact, the launch of this campaign is a response to the ongoing epidemic in Lagdo in the Northern Region. 3 .278 422 children are targeted: those aged 9 to 59 months for vaccination and those 12 to 59 months for deworming Mebendazole” says the communication unit of the Ministry of Public Health. This new vaccination campaign aims to stop the progression of measles and rubella that have done much more damage to the Far North, the most vulnerable region.
