2019 CAF Awards: Ajara Nchout Njoya among the three shortlisted nominees.
The Lioness is among the three finalists for the title of African Player of the Year 2019. She is accompanied by Asisat Oshoala and Thembi
Kgatlana.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the identity of the finalists for all the categories of the 2019 CAF Awards
announced this morning on social networks. Ajara Nchout Njoya is among the three finalists still in contention for the title of African Player
of the Year 2019.
She is the only Cameroonian still in the running for the 2019 African ball among the ladies. The Indomitable Lionesses’ striker is still in
battle with the 2018 South African Chrestina Thembi ball and the Golden Triple Ball, which no longer features Asisat Oshoala. Nominated
for the first time in her career, Ajara shakes everything up. Cameroon’s top scorer at the last women’s world cup remains confident.
The CAF awards celebrate African footballers and officials who have distinguished themselves during 2019.
The list of nominees is compiled by a panel of media and technical professionals. It features several award categories for men’s and
women’s football including African Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Youth Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, Goal of the
Year, Africa Finest XI, Federation of the Year and several new award categories which will recognize exceptional contributions to African
football and inspiring individuals.
The Interclubs Player of the Year Award has been reintroduced and will be dedicated to honoring key actors in CAF’s club competitions
