Sadio Mane has been crowned African player of the year for 2019.
The Senegalese and Liverpool forward who led his country to second in the 2019 AFCON and won the champions league as well as the just ended club world cup with Liverpool beat Riyad Mahez and Team mate
Mohamed Salah to pick up the prestigious Award.
Alongside the African king is the queen of the continent Assisat Lamina Oshoala who saw off challenges from Nchout Ajara and Thembi Kgatlana to win the women’s best player award for 2019.
Oshoala plays for FC Barcelona women in Spain and carried Nigeria to the Round of 16 at the FIFA women’s World cup As well as helping Nigeria win the last edition of the Women’s African Cup of nations.
Other awards at the 2019 CAF awards saw Desirée Elise winning the best coach for the female national team.
The women’s national team of Cameroon bagged home the award for the best female team of the year.
And as far as African club soccer is concerned Moise Katumbi took home the trophy for the best African club president of the year and the Egyptian football federation after 2 continental competitions organised last
year in the 2019 AFCON and U23 went back with the best federation of the year award.
After guiding Algeria to success at the 2019 AFCON coach Djamel Belmadi beat off all challenges to emerge as the best men’s coach of the year with the team voted best team of 2019.
Achraf Hakimi of Morocco is the best young player in Africa
Tarek Hameed of Zamalek took The African interclub player of the year.
As far as the best eleven (11) players for 2019 is concerned we have Andre Onana,Serge Aurier, Joel Matip,Kalidou koulibali, Achraf hakimi, Idrissa gueye,Riyad mahrez, Hakim Ziyeck, Mohammed salah, Pierre
aubameyang, and Sadio mane.
