Cameroon Minister of Foreign Affairs Lejeune Mbella Mbella rubbishes the separatists at the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council of the United Nations in Geneva Switzerland.

Ever since the massacre of the civilian population on February 14, 2020 in Ngarbuh in the North-West Region, with several children among the victims, the Cameroonian government has been in the cross hairs of

international organizations which suspect its army of being the author of this massacre that has shaken the whole world.

In its counter-offensive, the Yaoundé regime misses no opportunity to exempt its defense forces in the various acts.

Thus, on February 24, in his speech during the opening day of the 43rd Session of the UN Human Rights in Geneva, the Cameroon Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, accused the secessionists to

be the perpetrators of the abuses recorded in the South West and North West, the two regions of his country plagued by a civil war.

According to the member of the  government, the separatists regularly use the civilian populations as human shields in defiance of the rights and the life of the said populations.

“Despite these unacceptable actions, the Cameroonian defense and security forces remain and will always remain resolutely committed and will spare, as far as possible, all human life in the professional conduct of

their missions” declared MINREX to defend the regular army .

He also took the opportunity to insist on the death toll of five dead including four children on February 14 in Ngarbuh.

“Some bodies have, without any investigation, alleged the massacre of 22 people, including women, and 14 children perpetrated by the defense and security forces,” said the Cameroonian chief of diplomacy.

In the process, Lejeune Mbelle Mbelle took stock of the armed struggles against the separatist fighters in the English-speaking regions and against Boko haram in the Far North region.

He then concluded on the government’s efforts in the management of refugees in his country.
