After having decided the first time to organize the African Cup of Nations in the month June-July 2019, the confederation of African Football envisage another reschedule for the next edition in Cameroon after a 12 point statement arrived at on Thursday in Cairo Egypt.

Based on the executive committee meeting, two decisions directly touched Cameroon which was firstly on an approval of the dates of the  African championship from the 4th to the 25th of April 2020 and the yet to be confirmed AFCON dates.

The  shareholders and stakeholders jointly signed the agreement for dates to be confirmed with host nation Cameroon and communicated in the days ahead based on the complex weather and climatic conditions in Cameroon.

In effect even if CAF has not clearly stated its reason but FIFA earlier announced at the beginning of the month on the reformation of clubs and league matches worldwide thus the 2021 edition will be announced in the weeks ahead.
