The government of Cameroon has entered an agreement with Samuel Eto’o to jointly fight COVID-19 in the country.
The campaign is aimed at distributing coronavirus kits to 50,000 households in Cameroon.
The information was made public on April 15, 2020, contained in a press release.
Samuel Eto’o action of 50,000 coronavirus kits distribution concerns four cities; Yaoundé, Douala, Buea, and Bafoussam.
According to the press release, Samuel Eto’o foundation is targeting households with high level of exposure in the country.
” Distribution of” Stop Covid-19 “kits to 50,000 households of the most exposed Cameroonian strata: the Samuel Eto’o foundation is partnering with Cameroonian corporate citizens in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus ” reads the press release.
The campaign of the former captain of the Indomitable Lions and FC Barcelona player is geared at continuously encouraging and educating the masses on regular washing of hands with water and soap.
This will be accompanied by the distribution of hand washing kits including drinking water, bleach, soap.
The second phase of the campaign focus on humanitarian supports with foodstuffs such as rice and salt etc.
This will be benefited by at least 50,000 (fifty thousand) households from the poorest areas of Buea, Bafoussam, Yaoundé, and Doaula.
In his kind gesture, the former resident of the Kadji Sports Academy did no forget footballers of the Cameroon local championship.
“ The Samuel Eto’o foundation, in association with the sports management agency UTOPIA , and the company BETOO, have decided to support professional football players who are deprived of wages because of this health crisis imposed by the Covid pandemic -19.
As a result, health protection kits and foodstuffs will be delivered through FECAFOOT (Cameroon Football Federation Editor’s note) to 1000 players playing in the 44 clubs making up the different league 1 / male league and female 1 league”, contained in the title.
