The Cameroon Minister of Public health, Prof Malachie Manaouda has devised some preventive measures to combat against the transmission of the deadly Coronavirus currently rocking China.
According to reports, the outbreak of a new coronavirus that began in the Chinese city of Wuhan has already killed 80 people in China, with over 2744 others affected. The Infections are said to have been confirmed in many other countries including France, United States, Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Macau, Canada. In a tweet posted yesterday, Health Minister Manaouda Malachie says health experts are currently working on the prevention of any possible importation of the Coronavirus from China to Cameroon.
“As part of epidemiological surveillance, measures are underway to prevent any possible importation of Chinese Coronavirus into Cameroon…”He partly tweeted.
Notwithstanding these surveillance measures, the Minister has called on all Cameroonians to observe a certain number of preventive measures to ensure they are protected against the Coronavirus infection.
“For now, you have to wash your hands regularly, cover your nose and mouth before sneezing, and cook meats very well…”, the minister added.
According to reports, there are currently no vaccines available for protection against the human Coronavirus infection and as such, human prevention remains the best cure.
